Encouraged by his father, Jeff’s deep love for music began at an early age and has continued into adulthood.  Since earning his Bachelor of Music with jazz emphasis degree from Millikin University in 1984, he has sought to pass the gift of music on to others through teaching and performing.  He has been a teacher of music in the public schools and for private students and has performed in a variety of musical groups.  Currently he sings, plays trumpet and valve trombone in his own jazz and blues band, MOmentum, and is the principal Euphonium player in the Decatur Municipal Band.

Jeff enjoys spending time with his best friend and wife, Ellen.  He loves animals and enjoys training and playing with his sister-dog, Abby, an Old English Sheepdog.  He also enjoys weightlifting and swimming and watching his favorite sports teams, the Cardinals and Blues.
