 WALK TO BETHLEHEM

19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.  1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Walking, running, swimming, bicycling, skating, cleaning house, mowing the yard, gardening, raking leaves, school recess, playing at the park, and physical therapy as a result of recovering from an injury, surgery, or illness!  What do they all have in common?  These are activities that involve some form of movement.   And they all count in our Walk to Bethlehem!

Beginning September 26 through December 18 our church family and friends will begin to track our activity as a way to Walk to Bethlehem.  The Walk to Bethlehem is an imaginary walk that encourages us to increase physical activity, spiritual growth, and cultural awareness through a virtual tour to Bethlehem.    We will begin this journey in Blue Mound and travel 4,242 miles as we mark our way to New York City + Casablanca, Morocco + Algiers, Algeria +Tripoli, Libya + Cairo, Egypt + Bethlehem, Israel.

Anyone can participate regardless of your age or physical fitness level.  All types of exercise will count, even day-to-day walking around.  Our Parish/Community nurse, Katrina Norman will be tracking our steps/activity and recording them so we can measure our progress.  This is a great way to prepare for the celebration of the birth of Jesus!

Blessings along the way!  Pastor Ellen
